From Monthly newsletter / Roots 2 - Silver maple tree
It is said to have been named because the undersides of its leaves appear silvery-white. In the fall, the leaves typically turn a vibrant golden color. Despite its beauty, this tree is very aggressive, spreading its roots vigorously in search of water. I painted the roots of a silver maple tree crawling along the ground in search of water.
