The newsletter's theme is roots. Based on the image of roots, I created a winter scarf.
I made dye using the bark of a crape myrtle tree, Black walnuts, collected from my garden. I treated it with an iron or tannin solution as a mordant. I dipped wool fabric and wool ribbons into the dye, then felted them by hand while kneading them with hot water and soap.
